Koto Skirt | The Yoko Capsule
The Yoko Capsule is a limited, collaborative collection with Emi Ito of Little Koto's Closet. This capsule consists of five pieces envisaged in the spirit of Emi's late mother, Yoko. Learn more about the inspiration behind each piece here.
Named after the instrument, the koto, this straight styled skirt is reminiscent of the instrument’s elegant shape. This 100% linen skirt features inseam pockets, two modest side slits, and a fully elasticized 1.5" waistband.
Here are Emi's words about the significance of the Koto Skirt:
"My mother was a professional koto player and I grew up listening to her daily practice sessions. This straight styled skirt reminds me of the koto’s elegant shape when it’s leaning up against a wall, which is often how my mother’s kotos were stored in our home. It is an homage to her daily practice of honing her craft and a reminder to me of what it takes to truly commit to something whether it be music or racial justice, we must show up every single day and make it a practice."
The Koto Skirt has an easy fit with a few inches of ease through the hips.
